We have received help from

"CRY" who gave us notebooks, and other items of stationery;

"Goonj", who have given us mats, stationery, several instalments of clothes, books, toys and stationery, blankets etc. Goonj also organized a camp "Pratibimb"for facilitating interaction between urban and rural schools catering to the poorer sections of society and 8 children from Saksham Vidhyalaya participated in this 3 day event

"Indian Council of Child Welfare" who have given us clothes, pencil boxes, water bottles,etc;

"Rotaract, Qutub" who organized the dental check up camp and have been regularly visiting the school and encouraging the children with their interactions and who have also donated a pedestal fan, apart from distributing clothes etc.;

"For the people", a group of motivated youth working with CONEXANT, Noida who gave us clothes, pin-up Boards, notebooks, crayons, pencils, durries etc. This group were also the main organizers of the picnic in which all the students took part.

Dr. Sharda Jain, of Life Care Centre, Preet Vihar, who helped to organize an anaemia detection camp covering all students of Saksham ,as well as their parents and other adults in the community, and who also rendered an awareness programme and supplied iron tablets as part of the remedial measures.

Ms. Eliza Wolosan, founder of Global Education Fund, U.S.A, who had visited Saksham and brought a huge collection of very educative, illustrated books suitable for the age group and level of learning of the students of Saksham Vidhyalaya.

The Pandies, a theatre group headed by Mr.Sanjay, English Lecturer in Hansraj College, who started a theatre workshop in the school. The workshop aims at sensitizing the children to issues of gender and communalism etc. through the medium of theatre. The kids got to perform in the amphitheatre of the India Habitat Centre. The performance was very well received.

Rotary Club :- Mr. A.C Peter, Assistant Governor Rotary Club, and Dr. Nischal Pandey,in charge of their programme, “Gift Of Life”, arranged for the open heart surgery of Pooja, who had some major heart problems. The surgery was successfully performed in Fortis Hospital,Vasant Kunj . Pooja’s parents eke out a living by selling tea and snacks on the roadside and can barely make ends meet.

Ramjas School, Sector IV, R.K. Puram, who has given us a collection of textbooks, notebooks, stationery, $ exercise cycles and a shelf.

St.Michael's School, Pusa Road, who have donated books and stationery

Vishwabharati School, Noida, who helped with furniture and blackboards

Cambridge school, Noida, who collected and supplies used textbooks, stationery etc.

We are now gradually building up a volunteer base. Many youngsters have become involved and are spreading the word and helping to build up a network of interested individuals from the community.
