Theatre workshop :Shri Sanjay , Lecturer in Hansraj College, New Delhi, and founder of the theatre group "Pandies" has been coming to Saksham Vidhyalaya in Nithari, since April 2006, along with his committed group of students, regularly, on alternate Saturdays. Apart from familiarising the children with the all the basic aspects of theatre performance, including script writing, stage presence, oration, acting etc. this workshop has also been sensitising the children to issues relevant to their immediate lives, their neighbourhood , the country and humanity in general. Some of the issues that have remained in focus are children's rights,education of the girl child and other gender issues, alchohlism, communalism, child abuse etc. At the end of a year of this workshop, the children got to present skits in the India Habitat Centre , which was well recieved.

Medical check-ups and follow –up : Because of the unhygienic conditions surroundings, the children suffer from all kinds of health problems from constant bouts of cold, cough and diarrhea to serious ailments like T.B. We now have Dr. J.K Jain , who retired form the Central Government Health Services,coming in every Thursday to attend to the children as well as many of the adults,in the locality. Medicines are also given free of cost.. Serious cases that are detected during these examinations are followed up with further medical consultations, tests and medication/treatment as prescribed.
