The word “Saksham” in Hindi means “capable” and this nomenclature tries to capture the essence of our intentions.

We believe that a holistic education is one of the main inputs that goes towards developing the potential capabilities in an individual and that opportunities for the same should be made accessible to all sections and groups of people.

Our work has been directed towards building up the capabilities of children of migrant families living in Nithari and towards this end, we are running an informal school within this urban basti.

Saksham is not affiliated to any political, religious or ideological group. We however believe in constructive co-operation with individuals and groups who share similar motivations.
